Our world is going through a tunnel of death right now. We are seeing thousands of deaths every day. Covid-19, a disease caused by a virus of Corona family, is the name all the people around the globe are fearing today. Not just the weaker countries, but the powerful and developed countries are suffering. In-fact United States, China and Italy are the most affected ones where China is now slowly coming out of this “Chain of Hell”. Almost every country has suffered with it. Every industry has suffered losses except Health and Sanitizer making companies as sanitizing our hands, has been declared to be a very effective way to avoid Covid-19 infection. So, let us understand what is Covid-19 and how it’s changing the dimensions of our life.
Covid-19 is a disease caused by a virus of the Corona family. Because of it being a virus, there is no cure of it. One cannot be treated once infected with Covid-19. Now, what is Covid-19? “Covid” means Corona Virus Disease and 19 means 2019, the year it started to spread and harm the world. It started from Wuhan, a city in China. Soon it spread to the rest of the world and now we all know what’s happening. The country most affected today is the United States. What this country has always imagined in its HD Hollywood movies, has happened for bad in real! But we are here not to discuss all the details about Covid-19 but to look at its relevance to Wahabi Terrorism.
During all this Corona tragedy, an interesting chain of events occurred in South Asia, especially in India and Pakistan. A radical Islamist Deobandi ideology group wiz. Tablighi Jamaat has been accused of spreading the virus whether intentionally or by ignorance. In India for example this group held a big functional meeting at its head office in New Delhi. Soon after that they were tested positive all-around India, every corner. But people are confused in India. Many are blaming that these Jamaatis are doing this intentionally to harm the “Hindu India”. Some are calling it “Corona Jihad”. But what is the real scenario? What’s the secret fact of the situation?
Tablighi Jamaat is the biggest Deobandi ideology organization in South Asia. It follows radical Deobandi sect. It has produced a good number of terrorists in India and Pakistan at least. The group’s name “Tabligh” means to spread a message. The word is similar to “Dawah”, which means to invite Kaafirs to Islam. Basically, it all has one issue, to spread Islam. So how does the Tablighi Jamaat do it? Tablighi Jamaat makes groups of its members, then these groups coming from every part of India travel to other parts of India and do Tabligh. So, what they basically do is, they try to convert the Barelvis i.e. the Sufi Sunnis to Deobandism. They ask Muslims to perform Namaaz (Islamic prayer) five times a day, be stricter in following Islam, avoid taking sacrificial food from non-muslims etc. In-fact Tablighi Jamaat is being watched by the FBI too. Due to its Deobandi Wahabi ideology which is shared by the Taliban, it has produced many recruits for the Taliban. Not just this, an American John Walker Lindh, who was arrested by the US forces in Afghanistan in 2001, was a member of Tablighi Jamaat. NYT quotes Michael J. Heimbach, an FBI Officer, “We have a significant presence of Tablighi Jamaat in the United States, and we have found that Al Qaeda used them for recruiting, now and in the past.” Even in Europe, Tablighi Jamaat has been accused of inciting extremism and terrorism. So, yes as a matter of fact, Tablighi Jamaat is no innocent when talking about its role in inciting Wahabi terrorism.
But coming back to our topic today, we need to find out if there is any Wahabi group which may or can or is using Corona for its “Wahabi Jihad”. In the case of Tablighi Jamaat it doesn’t seem so. Due to its travelling modus operandi it did cause a lot of cases in India, Pakistan etc. but that is due to its extreme ignorance and extremism. We cannot call it their intentional Jihad. But what about Wahabi terrorists out there? Are they not using Corona for their missions too? Let us find out.
The current “head” of all the Wahabi Terrorists out there- the IS (Islamic State) has said that, Corona is punishment for the Crusader nations for their sins. But there is nothing like “Corona Jihad” till now. No terrorist group has done it. But yes, some news agencies and websites have warned that during this tragic period, such groups may use this time to regrow and come back. IS can come back better. But is that it? Could it not be that in coming time some terrorist groups may use this virus to attack and kill people?
Corona Jihad is not there. But soon it may happen that groups like IS could use a Covid-19 positive to send him to groups of people and infect them with Corona, silently or with warning. We cannot say whether it will happen or likely to happen or not, but we should be ready for such a situation and not think that it could not happen. Wahhabism/Salafism is the most dangerous ideology in the world. It’s sadist and brutal. It can instigate its followers to commit any inhuman act for their ideology and yes, they don’t fear death because they are fools, we are NOT.
